Review of Greetings by Raven Howell

Greetings, is a picture book written by Raven Howell and illustrated by Ann Pilicer. If Raven’s name sounds familiar, it could be because I posted about her a while back on this very blog! If you would like to read it again (or for the first time), you can find it here: http://eugeniachu.com/2019/06/01/introducing-award-winning-author-and-poet-raven-howell/

Now back to my review! Greetings is an adorable book which takes you through the seasons with eye-catching colorful illustration sure to capture the attention of little ones!  There are only a few words per page so it’s perfect for the short attention spans of the youngest readers/listeners. Also, this book is written in rhyme and the tempo is easy and fun to read – especially out loud!

Greetings actually made me feel a little nostalgic for my own childhood growing up in New England. Just like pictured in the book, I remember running through sprinklers and swimming in the summer, finding bird nests with eggs and hoping to catch them hatching (never did!) in the spring, playing in leaves in the fall, sledding and playing in the snow in the winter, and so much more! This is a beautiful fun book for the tiniest of tots, but also for their parents and caretakers!

  1. Thanks for such a glowing review! Ann Pilicer and I had so much fun creating it together and putting our tender loving care into each page.
